- This 1934 drama is a significant example of propaganda theatre. The main theme is the 'redemption' of the protagonist intended as a dramatic conversion, occurred through the sacrifice of a beloved one, from socialism to fascism, that is, from perdition to salvation. This theme is addressed by telling the story of three brothers with opposed political views, managing a power plant in the years after WW1 (the first two acts take place during the 'biennio rosso').
