film
- Description:
- Elegant 'white-telephone' comedy, built around the plot device of the 'film within a film', which is used as a pretext to express an aesthetics of cinema as pure artifice, fiction, and escapism. A fussy and capricious actress abandons her film set to chase an alleged prince, but will be replaced, both on the set and in reality, by the poor and humble Pierina, her doppelganger.
